Though she was about to fall flat on her face and fall asleep, Missy kept encouraging her to do some exersize so that later in the day, she could have a proper and comfortable nap. Though she didn't feel up to it much, the atmosphere of the pool room was already beginning to lighten up her day. Her attire was quite simple - a gray bikini that tied behind her neck, and a loose fitting, cream colored shirt on top*. Her long, pink locks were scrunched in a quick messy bun, which now rested near the top of her head. Fortunately, Missy was in a very bright and friendly mood today, and sat next to Adelie as she waved her slender legs back and forth in the water as she sat on the edge. The water felt refreshingly cool, doing its job to wake her up quite nicely.
After wetting her hand, Adelie flicked some water onto Missy's face. This normally would have aggravated her, but instead, she made a kind of giggly noise and splashed back. The water darkened some random spots on her shirt, making it stick to her skin on those areas. "You silly goose," Adelie laughed, continuing to wade her legs. She didn't have any intention to fully enter the pool, as she just wanted a short hour to be lazy and do nothing. She was smiling, but her mind was still filled with a few worrying thoughts. Adelie's manager wasn't feeling so well as of late, which should have bought her some time off work. However, the photographers continued to pressure her and work harder than normal. Her email was flooded with countless requests, and it seemed to have been leaked to the general public, resulting in a spam of fan mail. Of course, she loved support from her fans, but now she had no idea what to do. With her dear manager gone, she was dropped flat on her rear. And it hurt.
The Froslass noticed Adelie's smile begin to droop, and sympathized. Hopefully the pool would eventually get her spirits up. "Froslass?" she chirped, earnestly hoping for at least a fake smile. The girl sighed, and patted her pokemon's head. She's really sweet sometimes," she thought to herself. Too bad I don't see this side very often.
Children splashed around on the other side, throwing around beach balls, laughing, putting toys in their mouths. She felt a pang of nostalgia, wondering why time flew by so fast. It was only like yesterday when she was surrounded by her own loyal friends, joking around, telling innappropriate jokes. Adelie didn't have many friends anymore, considering most of the girls who approached her wanted to rip her eyes out. She didn't quite grasp the reason why, but it may be along the lines of envy. No no, I can't assume that. She quickly shook the thought away.
"Missy, i'm a loser, aren't I?" she laughed. Adelie kicked the water a little harder.

IF YOU WERE THE LAST GIRL AND I WAS THE LAST BOY left here on this planet maybe then you'd live me
There were a few key advantages to working as a janitor. One, it gave to access practically anywhere on the space station, which meant the kitchen was always open. Two, it taught a guy about every single nook in cranny there was, in case that ever came in handy. And three, it was a great excuse to skip school.
At a time like this, most kids anywhere near his age would be stuck at some class with their nose in a notebook while their teacher put them to sleep with irrelevant rambling. Or, that was his take on it at least -- and there were much better things to do than that. Weren't you supposed to "live life to the fullest"? Can't be done when you're bored as hell until you're eighteen. He'd started playing hookey a year or two back, but had found that people recognized you and didn't like it when you weren't being a good little boy and following rules. So as soon as he turned sixteen, he'd made it a point to find a job. Anybody who knew him was surprised; lazy as he was, why would he take that kind of initiative? Expectations weren't high, but somebody must've decided that he was worth trying out, because he'd been hired as a janitor. And since then, maybe it was the job or perhaps people had just gotten used to his antics, but he wasn't caught skipping nearly as much as before.
So there he was, opting to program little bots to polish the floor instead of learning how to factor quadratics. Kneeling down and tinkering with one of the small machines made it look a more more busying of a task than it really was -- then again, he was only doing this to pass the time, anyway. Elias had been at it for awhile now, and he'd managed to gloss an entire hallway floor until those passing him walked as if they expected to slip and fall. As good as that lot had been, it wasn't about to last much longer. One could only clean the same spot for so long before people got suspicious.
So he stood back up and threw his arms up and back in a stretch, yawning as he checked his pocket PDA. Oh, yeah... The pool hadn't been cleaned yet today, and that was just a hall over. Why not? It probably didn't need the attention, but that didn't stop the white-haired teen from ordering the bots elsewhere and sauntering towards his next task with his little Aron in tow.
Sure enough, the pool wasn't really due for a cleaning, but as soon as he walked in that was perfectly fine with him. He was instead occupied with the pool's sole occupant, gaze locked onto... Wait, he'd seen her around before, hadn't he? There was something about her that he was sure he recognized, but memory wasn't really his forte. Ah, well. That didn't stop him from putting a more elegant swing in his step, his default Pokemon wingman trotting along just behind him as he made his way over by the pool. After grabbing the pool skimmer off the wall, of course, to make it look like he was out here to really work and not just flirt.
Elias got to work with the thing, dipping it into the pool and letting the censors on the end direct him towards anything that might be lingering on or beneath the clear surface. When he drifted nearer to the pink-haired woman who seemed rather preoccupied with her thoughts and her Froslass, he smirked inwardly and planned his pick-up line. Had to be smooth.
"How's the water feel?" He asked politely enough, confident that he'd made that first part sound like he was perfomring some kind of customer service inquiry. Though it was a bit more than that. "Of course the station maintenance keeps it comfortably warm, but it's obviously got nothing on you." |

Adelie sighed, as the pool could be much more relaxing with a beautiful scene to match. This place was so... monochrome. There was no excitement in nature, no soft grass and rustling of the trees. She had obviously never seen Earth before, but there were plenty of pictures to let her know it was absolutely perfect. Yes, everyday was a miracle, but sometimes, she couldn't help but feel a bit dissapointed in life.
She heard doors click open, but ignored it, figuring it was yet another random person come to relieve their stress. "How's the water feel?"
|
[/i] a young voice called out. Adelie turned her head, spotting the owner of the question. It was a boy, probably in his mid teens. A small smile creeped up on her face. How adorable! He looks like a little kid. A pinch of sheer pink also touched her cheeks. "It feels great! It, mm, relieves my... boredom." she lied. There was no point in talking about her stress to a little boy, anyways. Missy glared at the boy. Couldn't he see the state Addie was in?! Obviously not. Probably a dimwit. If he dared shoo her out to do his silly little maintenance job, she would be sure to knock some sense into his empty skull. The Froslass then noticed an Aron following the white haired nuisance. Great, more bother. She looked away quickly, pretending not to notice, and tapped Adelie lightly on her arm once. She couldn't quite understand what Missy was doing, but it was obious that she didn't enjoy this new company. Adelie took Missy's small little hand and held it to the floor, where water was lapping in and out, since they were on the edge of the pool. "Of course the station maintenance keeps it comfortably warm, but it's obviously got nothing on you."[/i] Adelie giggled. What a cutie! How wonderful it would be if she could put him in her pocket and take him home. "Oh sweetie, thanks!" Missy didn't like this one bit. How could he, a petty, scrawny kid, cheer her up more than she, her loyal Froslass? But she said nothing, and stared blankly out into the pool. Adelie finally realized that the boy must be on cleaning duty. Well, this little 'trip' to the pool was enjoyable in its entire five minutes. Or something. She removed her legs from the water and stood, Missy doing the same. She'd make sure to come again another time. "Sorry, I must be in your way," she said while looking at his pool skimmer. On a second thought, no. Adelie had had enough stress for the day. "Actually, you don't mind if I stay just a bit longer, do you?"[/div] NOTES - - EW.
